11-11-11 is launch date for Dinagyang 2012

The 44th celebration next year of this city’s premier festival, the Dinagyang, will be officially launched on Nov. 11, 2011.
Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog said it will be a grand Dinagyang 2012 as Ilonggos celebrate the Diamond Jubilee Year, marking the 75th year of the city’s Charter.

Ilonggo shoppers who excitedly packed the scene were met and greeted by celebrities Paul Jake Castillo and Dino Guevarra. In the early evening, the most awaited car park concert of R&B prince Jay-R and screen diva Geneva Cruz was capped with a spectacular fireworks display, dahlings! P14M budget proposed for Dinagyang Festival

The organizer of the 2011 Dinagyang Festival is looking forward to raise some P14 million to finance the staging of Iloilo’s world-class festival slated on January 21 to 23.

Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation Inc. president Ramon Cua Locsin signed a memorandum of agreement yesterday with the city government represented by Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog and Fr. Achilles Secio, OSA of the San Jose Parish Church.

The city government will shell out P6 million while the IDFI will raise the remaining amount, Locsin said.

Business community vows support for Iloilo infra plans

The business community committed their support to the infrastructure investment priorities of the city and province of Iloilo during the "Infrastructure Summit: Partnership for better infrastructure" on Wednesday in Iloilo City.

The infrastructures investment priorities were presented to the business community and political leaders of Iloilo, including Gov. Arthur Defensor Sr., Iloilo City Rep. Jerry Treñas and Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog.

Iloilo City to establish sisterhood with Yulin

A “twinning relationship” between Iloilo City and Yulin, China will be realized soon.

Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog, together with Public Employment Service Office manager Alan Zaldivar, will visit Yulin on October 21 to 23 to finalize the pact between the two cities.
